As LIDGE moves into drydown, the individual notes merge into a beautifully orchestrated symphony, each note supporting and amplifying its fellow note. To my nose, LIDGE is a very complex, classy, refined, quality, elegant and mature scent. Where you fall on that scale will depend on your age and the place you currently are in your fragrance journey. In this one I do not feel greenish chords at the exit, however, I feel a resinous nuance of Elemi that brings me to the fresh clay, something slightly sweet and dusty. The opening is such that it may not be worth the wait for you. I have this lingering suspicion that it will grow on me, or that smelling it up close is not the way to appreciate it.If you are young and / or just starting out in your exploration of fragrances, you will probably not like this one. If you are older and / or have been on your fragrance journey for a while, you will love this one. Lockon, something wrong with your bottle or your sense of smell. this is the strongest and longest lasting perfume in my collection. Right in the center of the heart, the notes of Jasmine and Néroli give the air of grace, you can perceive a slight dirt in the middle of the white floral there, but the luscious and eminent feature of Anis still lingers here, and with that aspect also culinary which he may have, to refer to the cake dough, and which has just come out of a large batch, since the sensitivity of the "heat" it transmits at this stage is perceptible. About 40m-1hr, on my skin, before I get to enjoy the fragrance. But if you do manage to trooper it out and wait for the drydown, it will blow you away with class, sophistication, and a wonderfully blended professional aura. For compliments, men love the scent, but probably wouldn't wear it often personally. Perhaps more mature women may prefer it, but those around my age range certainly do not. I feel it may be a lot better smelling if you simply get whiffs of the opening while you move about, instead of closely smelling your skin, while the drydown works in either scenario. On all fronts this gets: 10/10 This is a great one. I think they should have just put a higher concentration of everything for the EDP to make it stronger rather than go the extra Patchouli route. Sometimes when you kill the bottle, you kill the fragrance.I remember wearing it one day and thinking it reminded me of a Latin type fragrance. When I first got it the dry woody dusty light beams part of the scent was the most apparent I finally got to try it (and the black-rimmed version too)! The first time I tried this scent, several years back, I was with my daughter and a woman I as dating at that time. I was just starting down the path of my fragrance obsession so they were not surprised when I took us off course to a small perfume shop on Disney property. Too bad for such an extraordinary perfume with impressive love/hate rate (see above).
2 hours in a little powder and wood make an appearance. The pronouncement of Anis's note in a blatant and aggressive manner, while exaggerating the sprinkles, his departure from a synaesthetic moment will become an obligatory ordeal which can not be avoided. All that said, I strongly discourage blind buys of this one unless you absolutely cannot find it anywhere.
Fast forward a year or so later and I came across this delicious scent once again. I used nine sprays..wrist, behind my ears, back & front of my neck, chest, front and back of my shirt. I'm back with my impression of Guerlain's vintage version of LIDGE!
This time I did purchase a bottle and add it to my collection. LIDGE opens as a semi-sweet, soft chocolate covered candy with a warm citrus liquid center, mostly tangerine to my nose. After almost a trillion analyzes on the enigmatic L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme Eau Extreme, the most popularly known, LIDGE, I am here again to give a somewhat subjective opinion, however, quite true about the construction of one of the largest hype of the history of perfumery, by me already perceived, on a fragrance. I think the beastmode longevity others are getting is lost on me, and for whatever reason, my skin eats this one up.
Try blending Muglers Ultra Zest with the L'Instant de Guerlain pour Homme Eau Extreme , two sprays each on either side of the upper and lower neck, the orange tanginess of Ultra Zest goes well with the LIDGE macho cacaoness . The mixture of tones is too much complex, undefinable, confusing. 08.4/10.0 - Scent(Top)/Aroma(Topo) 08.5/10.0 - Scent(Mid)/Aroma(Meio) 08.7/10.0 - Scent(Base)/Aroma(Base) 09.6/10.0 - Uniqueness/Singularidade 09.7/10.0 - Longevity/Longevidade 09.0/10.0 - Sillage/Rastro 07.5/10.0 - Versatility/Versatilidade 08.6/10.0 - Presentation/Apresentação -------------------------------------------------------------------- 08.6/10.0 - Total Personal notes!
It seems that it is a mixture of all kinds of essences one could find and put in one bottle. Certainly for guys 30 who can appreciate a complex fragrance like this. Based on general comparison ranks among other fragrances. Baseadas em ranques gerais de comparação entre outras fragrâncias.
